If you have environmentalist friends / contacts in Baguio City, text/call them and tell them to go to Luneta Hill NOW and hug the trees —YES, you read it right, FUCKING HUG THE TREES IF YOU DON’T WANT THEM GONE. SM is starting the earth-balling / cutting of trees to give way to a parking lot. People are starting to gather in Luneta Hill already. Go!

The group in charge of earth-balling the trees in Luneta Hill had no idea that we’re constantly on the look-out. They thought doing it at night would prevent us from knowing.

SM Baguio’s cutting down approximately 182 pine tress to make way for a parking lot but they released this manifesto to justify their actions. Our friends in Baguio have been protesting against it, but their efforts proved to be in vain. 

I hate it when nature has to give way for concrete, but still, I am not qualified to say that SM Baguio is doing the wrong thing. 

I wish I took environmental management instead (when I had the mind to shift to this course, the department head advised me otherwise and said the department’s removing the program) it would be easier for me to decide whether to believe in this manifesto or not. 

One thing’s for sure though. 

I don’t like it.
